Your Tasks
Join our team as the Manager of Environmental Analysis and Operations, where you'll lead the development of waste disposal plans and onboard waste management initiatives for our fleet.
Work collaboratively with vessel crew and shore-side teams to maximise environmental efficiency, manage costs effectively, and unlock substantial cost reductions through innovative strategies, robust financial forecasting, and proactive pursuit of sustainability initiatives that drive both environmental and financial benefits.
- Responsible for developing and optimizing waste disposal plans and implementing onboard waste management initiatives to increase efficiencies for all Costa and AIDA vessels. Develop and update the relevant procedures
- Close coordination and communication with Costa and Aida vessels (e.g., Staff Captain/Recycling Officer) and relevant shore side departments
- Develop the environmental port cost plan and forecast for the Costa and AIDA fleet by cooperating closely with the financial departments
- Actively manage and monitor environmental port costs and lead the monthly variance analysis
- Identify saving potential and initiate the necessary measures for its achievement, including, but not limited to, identification and application for all relevant environmental discounts and exemptions, sourcing new vendors or updating existing agreements and closely work with the Port Operations Managers on possible exemptions in their assigned region
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science / Engineering / Business Administration or equivalent. Master’s degree is a plus
- Specialization on environmental management systems
- Having multiple years of experience in environmental management, preferable gained within the cruise industry
- Having a previous professional experience in developing financial reports and presentations is required
- Experience in cruise ship operation/management is a plus
- Very good English language skills! Italian and/or German would be an add on
- Deep knowledge of Office 365 system (Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are mandatory. Knowledge of Hyperion, QlikView and Power BI are desirable)
- Previous Experience in use of MXP is a plus
- Service oriented with excellent communication skills
- Having at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role is desirable
