Your responsibilities:

Plant Operations: Supporting the onboard teams in securing the safe, reliable, energy-efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of all electrical and electronic equipment, communication systems and navigational systems.

Inspections and reporting: Planning, management, execution and reporting of maintenance activities onboard the ship within the electro-technical areas mainly but not limited to: Main Alternators, HV and LV Switchboards & Distributions, Propulsion Systems, Thermographic Surveys, UPS and VFD Systems

Project Supervision: Leading of electrical projects as on-site manager during operation and dry dock.

Training and development: Detecting training opportunities for the onboard electrical teams and providing proposals accordingly. Providing of immediate instructions and demonstrations as required, hands-on and theoretical training in technical systems as well as computer-based work/management tools.

Reporting: Regular reporting of statuses, findings and related proposals to the office (Electrical SI and Ship Manager), sharing the reports with the Chief Electrical Engineer.

Your profile:

Education: Bachelor, Master or degreed Engineer of electrical engineering or equivalent

Licenses and certificates: All the relevant safety certificates for onboard personnel, High Voltage systems certificate, IMO/Certification CoC “STCW III/6” (ETO) and possible to obtain Italian Endorsement

Experience: Minimum of 3 years professional or senior professional experience in the area of marine electrical/electronic engineering, preferably within the cruise industry. Experience and knowledge in electrical power plants, propulsion, safety, communication equipment, lifting apparatus, platform, lighting system, navigational system, automation and control systems.

Skills: Excellent understanding of the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the electrical and electronic equipment, communication systems, navigational systems and selected OT systems, with outstanding hands-on capabilities. Knowledge and experience with computer-based management and procurement systems, the ability to understand easily non-familiar systems.  

Qualities: Team player, high degree of service and result orientation, as well as readiness to travel.
Ability to demonstrate and apply skills under pressure. Openness and willingness to share knowledge with colleagues and able to provide comprehensible and comprehensive instructions and training.

Communication: Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for effectively interacting with colleagues onboard and in the office. Italian would be an advantage
